Y'know I usually say that people don't get Ph.D.s by accident but in your case I think I might make an exception because this is one of the stupidest arguments you could make in the wake of the largest source of independent journalism in the US being destroyed.
If you hang out with PhDs, one thing you quickly learn is that they may be , in their field of expertise, very smart and productive, and at the same time, in other areas of life, kinda stupid
surely you have met people and then thought "how can someone so smart about X be so dumb about Y"

I would have thought it self evident that a PBS or NPR salary of over one million dollars is a disgrace
But I guess I was really wrong
somehow people think that this salary is ok, maybe cause private sector CEOs make so much more
