  1. A right to marry someone who you're not interested in because of your unchangeable sexuality, is a useless right. Gay people were clearly disadvantaged.

A right to wee with people of your sex, not the opposite sex, is still a useful right. But why loos? Prisons, rape crisis centres all matter more.

  2. Also - surely you mean gender in the above statement?

You can't be suggesting that sexuality is based on sex, surely? What about your transbian friends? They're probably feeling very invalidated now. ARE YOU DENYING THEIR RIGHT TO EXIST?

This is clearly not the same as access to single sex spaces. There, everyone has the same right. No fundamental difference in provision.

Removing all separation of all spaces based on sex clearly has serious impacts. Which is why the right to single sex space exists.

  4. Hardly. Same sex marriage was not available, so people could not get married to a same sex partner. They didn't have a right to marry the person they loved - a fundamental difference - and extending that right had very low impact on anyone else.
