I love being an immigrant (not an "expat") in France, and wish all immigrants were welcomed wherever they go. No longer have horses (too old to take on any more) but happy with my cats and the ageing biker I married.

In my 25 year tech career (big and small), nothing has been more obvious to me than the extent luck plays in whether you have a fun, well-paid, and fulfilling career. Hard work helps, but it's like 95% right-time-right-place.
