    A portion of the hieroglyphs on the Luxor Obelisk in the Place de la Concorde, Paris. The obelisk was created in Egypt in the 13th century BCE and was gifted to France in the 1800s. #AbstractAug #Egyptian

    Black and white photo of the oldest monument in France. It was gifted in part to give thanks for the work Champollion did to decipher the hieroglyphs on the Rosetta Stone. The hieroglyphs include symbols that look like dragonflies or wasps, rabbits, an owl, and geese. There are humanoid figures, and several ankhs.
