Absolutely this.
When will we learn that inflicting violence on another is inflicting violence on ourselves? Harm done to One is harm done to All.
I get what you mean, but it never would've become necessary in those cases if the original violence in each of those situations had been prevented.
My theory is that "campaign finance" seems like suuuch a boring issue. Not to mention that Dems have failed to clearly communicate the message that "the larger the donation, the more control that donor has over what the politician in question does in office."
It baffles me that people can’t draw a straight line from “let’s have unlimited money in politics” to “the billionaires are trying to kill us all”
Just got a really obnoxious poll pushing a narrative about widespread fraud in Minnesota programs and asking if stopping care for transgender kids would have prevented the school shooting. Anyone know who’s behind it?
Welcome! 🙂
Seriously! The dialogue on Fox went like this...
"Walz was drinking... through a STRAW! Why is he doing that?" "Well, he was having a malted milkshake..." "Why was he even having a MILKSHAKE?!?"
For reference, getting a Dairy Goodness malted at the MN State Fair is a long-held TRADITION!
There's also the fact that pop-culture masculinity for some reason is at peak fragility.
I mean, we literally have alt-right guys who won't wipe after a crap because they think touching THEIR OWN BUTT is gay.
Hell, last year, Fox News dragged Tim Walz for having a malted at the State Fair!
Speaking as someone who used to spend time in their chats, SO much of US contemporary fascism is a function of men assuming that the way adulthood worked was, you got a job and in exchange you got a woman to be your mom plus your sex toy.
They are ENRAGED that they have a job but no sex mommy.
#MNStateFair
YEAH, I'm soooo Minnesotapilled over the state fair, it's such an experience and the culture around the fun new foods every year is so cool, I've only been going for a few years but I love it
#MNStateFair 💜 #PublicTransit 👍
Did our annual pilgrimage to the MN State Fair today and was reminded of the same experience leading me - as a then-suburbanite child - that buses are cool, actually. Transit service that is fast, affordable, and frequent enough that it doesn't require pre-planning a departure time is life-changing.
