  2. Congratulations to Seattle Mariners first baseman Josh Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) whose solo home run in the seventh inning last night was the 100th of his MLB career.

He became the 12th player born in Canada to hit 100 MLB homers.

  3. 40 years ago today, Andres Galarraga made his MLB debut with the Montreal Expos.

He pinch-hit for Expos 1B Scott Thompson in the eighth inning and struck out against Dodgers reliever Carlos Diaz at Olympic Stadium.

P.S. Things, of course, would get better for the Big Cat.

  4. 32 years ago today, Joe Carter belted three home runs in the Blue Jays' 9-8 loss to Cleveland at SkyDome.

It was the fifth and final three-HR game by Carter which is the second-most in MLB history to Johnny Mize, Sammy Sosa and Mookie Betts (who had six, three-HR games each).

And an all-time great batting stance.
