They wanted a war against they/them but the enemy is unfortunately we/us.
It was an all-out call for war against "them" when the right didn't know who "they" were, but now that it's clear that Kirk's assassin came from their world they've shifted back to meaningless "thoughts and prayers."

yeah, I noticed that as I read through to the end. The subheader definitely makes it sound like the shooting and the protest happened at the same place, but down like twenty paragraphs they finally mention that the two places are miles apart.

Pepe emotes are all over Twitch. That's where I know it from actually-- I was really surprised when I learned where Pepe got his start. And these are just videogame streamers, not politics chatters.
