Putin got his photo op, whitewashing of war crimes and no sanctions.
No one in Ukraine, Europe or the United States benefited in any way.

PM of Poland Tusk: August 15 is a good day for talks with Russia about war and peace. On this day 105 years ago during the Battle of Warsaw Poles stopped the Red Army in its march on Europe. Luckily we didn’t know that Russia „is invincible” - and we beat them. Peace through strength, nothing else.

I can be deeply sceptical (even angry) about today’s meeting of the two.
But I’m deeply grateful to the people in Alaska who showed their support. One day, it will be studied in history books.
