zoom out. like way out. like WAYYY out. further. if your composition/pose/etc still reads clearly then you're on the right track. slap a B&W layer filter over the top while you're at it and check those values. flip ur canvas. a lot. no, flip it more, you'll thank yourself later

i used to hesitate/get discouraged if my art didn't IMMEDIATELY look how i wanted. i had to learn that literally throwing down a horrible nonsense sketch was better than nothing because it was something. the idea is now THERE and easier to visualize
