If you cannot convince people that the government kidnapping people off the streets and conducting a takeover of the capital is full fledged fascism, they are never going to be convinced. Not until the boots are kicking down their front door.

An interesting subtext here. We do indeed spend vast sums on our military. So the idea here appears to be that without "forever wars" we need to occupy our own cities.

They cannot commandeer state and local law enforcement because they want to.

They cannot use federalized guard or military personnel for civilian law enforcement absent rebellion and insurrection.

Americans are being conditioned to think of crime as an urban issue. Ask why.
Alabama's murder rate is far higher than New York City's.
Urban crime is not worse than rural crime. It's just more visible. In cities everything is more visible.
So be careful what you blame city leaders for.
