I think it's around 200,000 across 160 countries each year. In England, 275,000 take A Levels I think (but will be more internationally). Marked by teachers too. The exams are not so spread out - my daughter's IB friends had all their exams in about a 10 day period. Hers stretched across a month.
Universities here (Belgium) expect candidates to upload their results in June/July because everything here is teacher assessed and students leave with their high school certificate when school finishes. In France the Bac results come out mid July.
