And there's the rub. Hard for me to chastise them for screen time, when I'm on non-stop myself (work and pleasure). They also carry pretty heavy academic and sports loads these days, so writing is just one of the unfortunate fallouts.

And did you master it (writing leftie)? I tried, but didn't stick with it long enough to acquire enough dexterity for writing. I think they still notice lefties in sports, but handwriting seems to be becoming a dying art, even in the classroom.

Not only is cursive becoming an untaught and foreign script, but these kids have horrible penmanship. There's no flair, embellishment, or the hundreds of hours spent to hone it. I still have a large callus on my middle finger from writing so much. Now it's all screens and keyboards.

I bought this cheap plastic tool that had raised ridges that you just keep pressing your fingers against throughout the day to build up calluses. It helped a bit. 😆

I'm over here tryna get my scales down, and these guys are doing crazy magic with their picking styles, harmonics, and shit no other guitarist can physically do. I have a buddy that spent 20 years learning to play King Crimson's Fracture (and even studied with Robert Fripp himself)
