Jalapeños are getting milder! There is a GMO called the “Texas A&M” variety that was bred to be milder and has been slowly proliferating grocery stores over time. If you want spicy jalapeños now, farmers market or a small store is your best bet.

I’ll start: about half of the mushrooms produced across the United States of America each year (more than 300 million pounds of mushrooms in recent years) are produced in one county in Pennsylvania.
Do I have a single thing packed for Copenhagen tomorrow? No. Did I get jalapeños from four different farmers yesterday to taste test them? Yes. My guess is that the one on the left is going to be the spiciest.

Canada has a strategic reserve of maple syrup in a warehouse in Quebec, in case of economic catastrophe. Somebody robbed it in 2012, in an event repeatedly referred to as The Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist.
