It helps that the kind of programming I do at work is very different from game programming. And if I’m tired of programming I can always work on music or UI or something else.

Small in the grand scheme of things, but always worth celebrating the small victories: the first game I released on Steam recently passed $10,000 in revenue and is approaching 1000 sales, which was my goal while I was developing it. And it has a "mostly positive" review score, too.

There are a bunch of problems with the government forcing arbitration in a labour dispute, but one big one is it creates bad incentives. If you run a company and you know (or strongly suspect) the government won't allow a labour stoppage, why would you ever negotiate in good faith?
