I think this is one of the best things JVL has curated. A lot of his writing, some other writings as well. Even if Ukraine is far away from your top concern, these writings focus on the many crises of the republic, like that famous old book.

On your other point: its not just fascism. Fascism is European and came abt in the 20th century. What we are experiencing is American. It has fascism but also Jim Crow, slavery, and manifest destiny.

His symptoms appear now almost daily. It could be early stage, and the stress is making it appear worse. But it's probably later stage.
