just a guy trying to stay informed of current events while keeping existential dread to a manageable level. Have opinions on handing the reins of power to unaccountable billionaires, misinformation, the environment and equality.

  1. "Either you endorse the genocide, or you don't endorse the genocide." #DavisCup and #Halifax are endorsing the genocide committed by Israel

  2. The #Gaza famine has unfolded in front of the world’s eyes.

We saw it coming. We warned about it. We were not allowed to stop it.

Now, as we count the lives lost to this intentional starvation, there is only one question to ask leaders: Where is humanity?

End the blockade of aid TODAY. CEASEFIRE!

  3. Putin: "With Trump's arrival at the White House, a light appeared at the end of the tunnel in Russia-US relations.

“Russia expects a full-scale restoration of relations with the US.”

  4. Gripping scenario from @patporter76.bsky.social of how Beijing might react in a future conflict: "Looking back: WWIII remembered This was not supposed to happen. Not in the year 2029. A nuclear war, millions dead, firestorms, irradiated cities. How did we get here?" thecritic.co.uk/issues/decem...

This was not supposed to happen. Not in the year 2029. A nuclear war, millions dead, firestorms, irradiated cities. How did we get here?

  5. We now see Ghislaine Maxwell’s payback to Trump:

She told Deputy AG Todd Blanche she had no incriminating info on high-profile figures tied to Jeffrey Epstein, denying the existence of a “client list” or blackmail scheme, ABC reports.

Never saw Trump, Clinton, or others engage in wrongdoing.

  6. I actually like capitalism. There's a lot to be said about a regulated economy, with laws & financial transparency & strict environmental protection. And of course nationalize essential services; water, power, health, post, commuter transport . Add some subsidized housing. And tax the fucking rich.

  7. "We didn't come here to listen to a load of stuff about famine and colonialism and genocide and being forced into exile, we came to hear some Irish folk songs!"

Our pals The Mary Wallopers have just been pulled off stage and the PA shut down at VictoriousFest in Portsmouth for taking out a 🇵🇸 flag and saying Free Palestine

Speak up against genocide in England and you're treated like a criminal

    Up the Mary Wallopers 💚🤍🧡

Free Palestine! Free the 6 counties!

  8. Continually doubling down on the status quo has driven civilization to the brink; the brink of major eco-systems collapsing, the brink of nuclear war, the brink of civil unrest, etc. Only idiots & corporations & idiots paid by corporations think the status quo is working.

And this is why The Argument getting so much funding as a supposed "left" leaning publication is so ridiculous. They're going to argue for the status quo, not building a better world. What a joke.
