Looked at in one way, the history of the 21st century so far is all about the weaponisation of fear. We have been trained to fear almost everything except the thing that's killing us: capitalism.
If you can make people fearful, their ability to think clearly diminishes, assuming they were critical thinkers in the first place.

That prediction was so mad that it makes me suspect that somebody somewhere thinks a historian's job is literally just "tell people about history"
I'm reminded of that assessment I saw on this site that historians are at high risk of being replaced by AI. Not on this evidence they aren't.

I mean, the crash wouldn't have happened anyway without the seizure. But you get what I mean. The kid may have saved other lives by taking the wheel, too. (Dad also had no insurance and only a provisional driver's licence, and had been told by a doctor not to take coke because of the seizures.)
