Putting the flowers I buy at the farmers market from my favorite organic farm into a thrifted Ball jar might be a little too on the nose for an English Professor.

Today is one of those days where I wonder if I should just legally change my name to “Mommy, I need you.”

My five year old has requested Beowulf.

I should state for those who don’t know me: I had my kid after I was 40. Much is wonderful and my patience is much better than it would have been at a younger age.
My knees and lower back have different feelings about it.

We took our five year old to Cedar Point today. I rode two rides for children. I ate some ice cream. We were there for four hours.
The kid loved it.
I am exhausted and sunburned and am entirely too old to be doing this.

What I really don’t get about relying on AI for brainstorming is this: brainstorming is seriously the most fun part. Making connections. Looking for patterns. Putting things together. My absolute favorite part of my job is working with students as they brainstorm project ideas.

But those outside visitors are a high impact practice! And anyone who says otherwise can pound sand.

Plus, I am more than happy to bring in Clorox wipes and a gajillion boxes of tissues. Those kids are germ factories. We had to bring Kleenex to school, too.
