I follow Adam Kinzinger,and he recently posted a video explaining that in DC only the President can call out the Nat’l guard in place of police for 30 days. Then Congress decided if extension is warranted. This explained to me why Pelosi had no authority on Jan 6.

People need to vaccinate and mask.
Let there be no confusion: vaccines save lives! I fight hard for vaccine access. However it is not the only layer of protection needed. Fully vaccinated people still get long covid and can be disabled by it. We need masking and testing. We need paid sick days. We need to filter indoor air.
