i once saw a claude monet exhibit structured around how his deteriorating eyesight at the end of his life manifested on the canvas, and it was an incredibly difficult to see his emotional struggle manifest in his changing brush strokes.

i reviewed dk3 as it came out and i had to deal with miller’s retrenchment of his racism and the work his peers were doing to keep his work viable on the page in the mini comics in tandem. it was emotionally taxing, but necessary to take in together.

you can call frank miller a racist or what have you, that’s definitely true and important to call out, but insulting his current drawing capacity given his age and health problems is something i can’t and won’t tolerate.
