  1. Hey, as a librarian I need to tell you:

    Our funding depends on usage.

So go ahead and check out that book even if you don't think you'll finish it. No one will know. Check out that DVD even though you might not like it. Get ambitious in your quest for knowledge.

  2. It’s a way for the admin to punch down—to make an implied threat. To show us that citizens don’t matter, just the criminals in the legislative and executive, and they want to let us know that either we toe their line or they will beat us up.

For the record, our division commander BANNED things called “presence patrols” in Iraq.

“If you don’t have a specific task & purpose, your ‘presence’ doesn’t do anything.”

  5. Feb 8, 1994 Weekly World Report on Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky: "I'll turn Alaska into a concentration camp!" Report was a tabloid, but he indeed called for military seizure of Alaska, which was where he wanted to dump inconvenient Ukrainians. #alaskahistory #alaska

  6. You can’t build solutions with the people who want the problems

the thing everyone is going to have to accept is that the post-trump period, whenever it comes, will not and cannot be a project of national unity, it must be a project of partisan project of renewal, in the same way that reconstruction and the new deal were partisan projects of renewal.
