i think it's ok to criticize likely dem presidential wannabees 2.5 years before the first primary

  1. As long as we don't criticize the current administration or other wanna be dictator Republicans it should be ok. On a less sarcastic note: we should all evaluate and critize our representatives, just keep it based on facts not meanness or others comments.

  2. I think one advantage of electoral democracy totally breaking down is that there's probably less harm in criticizing the opposition candidates

  3. Oh but did you consider republicans feefees on that? They want soft extermination with some plausible deniability and if we don't make our next campaign "Trump but somewhat better optics" we won't win the moderate vote

  4. Listen, us trans people just need to sacrifice our rights and apparently, retirement.

If we dare speak up, it just means we want fascism. We should honestly feel honored to be the sacrificial lamb!

I think we need to realize that we pushed too hard, and caused the Dems to lose.

  5. No no no, you see there was one poll of a few possible primary voters in one state and my preferred candidate won (got 15 percent in a field of over a dozen ) so it's inarguable that they will be the candidate in 2028 and you have to fall in line

  6. Wild statement… it’s ok to criticize dem politicians whenever; 2.5 years, months, days, MINUTES before the first primary (and anytime after). 🤷🏽‍♂️ Politicians work for we the people. Not the other way around.

  7. We need to be vetting people 8 years before every other election.

Also, if all that is required to run is citizenship and age, then any established party should have higher standards and tests. Cognitive, personality exams etc.

    E is me @ehansen.io

By the time we hit primary season their platforms will have eroded and messages massaged enough such that they are all virtually identical and have alienated both the progressives and the average centrist ensuring votes from neither. Then…perfecto

  9. At this point. you’re assuming there will be primaries. One step at time.. First remove the fascist authoritarian, loving pigs.

  10. The hardest part about being a leftist is that in four years, Gavin Newsom is going to get credit for rescuing the Democratic party. When all he’s going to do is be a diet Republican but because he’s white, he’s going to win.

  11. I like to think that it is ok to decry bad positions by candidates and to actively campaign for your favorite candidate even if they aren’t the preferred candidate of the party elite. Maybe that makes me a leftist wacko that loves fascists. I don’t feel Fascist.

  12. I know people want to get excited about it and reporters gotta report, but anyone who follows racehorse politics for a few presidential cycles should be able to see that the candidates who seem most likely 24 or 12 or 6 months before an election are often replaced by unexpected underdogs.

  13. Honestly any Dem who is looking to 2028 rn can go stuff it. We NEED 2026 first or else no matter the results in 2028, it’ll only go to fascists.

  14. criticizing the expression of opinions about a candidate for a primary seems like missing the point, tbqh

more broadly, anyone asking members of the left-liberal coalition to keep disagreements internal instead of airing them publicly might want to familiarize themselves with liberals and leftists

  15. The people who say “don’t criticize Dems” are the same people who say “I agree with their protest, I just disagree with how they’re doing it.” In other words utterly full of shit or unbelievably stupid. You can let them choose which.

  16. "it's not fair, they haven't started faking their personality and policy views to appeal to the primary voters yet"

  17. Let's not forget in that time why she lost the election. She did everything possible to alienate her base. Liz Cheney? Really Darth Vader's daughter. And US troops and weapons sent to help commit a genocide??

  18. no no no the way we gotta do it is collectively say they are all equally good and then let billionaires pick their favorite

  19. OK? I believe it is REQUIRED.

Trump was pretty much above all criticism within his party. Look how that's worked-out. This is not the example Democrats want to follow.

  20. It's crucial, right now. We need to weed out those who'll lose, and boost those strong and tough enough to stand for everything the corporate Dems hate: #MedicareForAll, #UBI, #GreenNewDeal, among many other things that we all need, and can defeat the evil regime.

  21. It is always ok to criticize wannabees.

    We don't need them.

    We need a leader.

The person who is out there doing.

Not the one who is out there posing.

  22. I think it’s okay to criticize them until they either win or drop out of the primary. And sometimes even after they drop out. (I’m still criticizing Klobuchar.)

  24. I'm so excited to watch our party's factions hate-frothingly fight about policy minutiae & hyper-praxis & theory that is arcane to 95% of America, all for an election that will be decided by 100,000 bitter 27-year-old dudes with no real value system who only put down the Switch for more Cheetos

  25. The Dems may actually win if you promote what you are for and people you are for instead of attacking someone that thinks Trans women should not compete in some sports after puberty. The fact that Trump just fired and took away retirement from trans military members may actually track with folks.
