I learned that I don't enjoy lawbooks due to reading some Grisham in grade school. I think it did my vocabulary good, but I still remember how mind numbingly boring it all was.

Well, the costs to build it were socialized, but the profits from such a system were privatized and locked away from the workers.
So, in a sense, they are victims. Victims of their own making by voting for conservatives to shore up that system, but to address that is "communism" to those folks.
