  4. Btw, fun fact about infallibility (you might already know this), but the belief isn’t that the pope is always infallible. It’s something he can declare re: a particular topic or issue under specific circumstances. It’s pretty rarely invoked

  5. Plus, no matter what the pope’s actual views are, Trump and Vance are going to claim this as a win for America. “Proof that God has chosen America!” Not the pope’s fault, but something we’re going to be stuck dealing with nonetheless.

  6. Like someone else said, he’s def not worst case scenario. But he’s not best, either. Personally, I’m more worried about the geopolitical ramifications than the pope himself. The inevitable fighting about America having too much of a global voice, which has both valid and less valid points, etc.
