  1. It feels really good to know you're giving directly to other people w/ major health conditions. If you have word searches, general fiction novels (nothing triggering so ppl of all backgrounds can enjoy), card games, puzzles, coloring books etc., sweaters, sweatpants, give a hospital near you a call

Biggest joy I've had since getting home from the hospital is gathering paperbacks, card games, sweaters & more to donate to help patients. Some ppl wind up there from the street or fleeing abuse or on the worst night of their life with zero, things are stressful, move slowly, & the A/C is freezing.

  2. Book-wise, they just say paperbacks only & nothing with excessive sex/violence that way it's for a mass audience, & card games are cool so nothing w/ little pieces that kids could get a hold of etc. Coloring books & word searches made so many ppl happy from all walks of life; even tough dudes color

  3. We had a woman who was brought in from a city over two hours away because she had a very rare issue only this place could address but she'd been in a bad situation & had nothing. She worried about getting a sweater for days & was so happy they found one in a donation bin. If you have the means, help

  5. I'm not really writing professional contemporary film criticism anymore but kindly received a screener of RELAY this week & I wanted to share my thoughts! (c/o Letterboxd)

  6. My 1 funny hospital story that I will share is I was in a unit with lots of ex-military (bc we all had chronic health conditions) & a sweet young girl would play any songs we wanted. An ex-army medic called out CCR & the first song shuffled to was hilariously "Fortunate Son," the most Nam song ever.
