I'm not for people hunting for pleasure, that's animal cruelty.
Hunting for pest control (i.e. rabbits etc) for Australia - you'd have to have a license to do it legally..
Same with hunting for food ... and don't you have shops?

I'm Aussie - so while I see a blanket ban of guns as unrealistic and unproductive (i.e. farmers and licensed hunters). I do think that you should have a damn good reason for owning a gun ... and "coz I want one" is NOT a good reason. And FFS keep the damn things properly locked up when not in use !!
