You know what happens when you ask a blind person what color shirt you're wearing, and they don't know the answer?
They tell you they don't know.
Asking GPT to count letters is a bad intelligence test since it's text is pre-processed through a lossy text embedding. It's like thinking a blind man is dumb for not knowing what color shirt you're wearing.

It was programs and then it was algorithms and then it was AI and to most people it’s just “computers doin stuff” in the fashionable phrase of the moment.

Every Silicon Valley innovation in the consumer space has been "what if this software was my mom" which explains why ChatGPT's primary use is as a therapist, relationship substitute for lonely boys, and "personal operating system" to organize their life
