Yeah I guess I just thought they'd be able to mental-gymnastics their way into telling themselves none of it was because of them and there's a whole new thing happening now that's somebody else's is doing and THEY never hated trans people, HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT!?
They're so good at that normally.
But I guess it's easier to flip flop and twirl into aligning with power and convince yourself you'll be protected than the opposite...
TERFs are already aligned with power, is the thing.
They almost invariably turn out to not just be transphobes, but bigots of other stripes, too - SWERFs, racists, homophobes. They side with nazis because they fundamentally hold similar views about the nature of power and society.
