My God. They CANNOT simply exclude costs to create a profit margin!!! That’s not accounting, that’s, well, that’s fraud (in certain settings) or at least fluff and nonsense meant to snare investors into sinking cash into a dream in exchange for equity that likely won’t be worth anything. Insanity

I hope so, but I feel that the current college football structure will make it a long term project. Now that kids can (rightfully) get paid even if they ride the bench, why not go to a super-Star school and hope to turn a third-string role into a decent career?

It’s not profitable, but it’s all the tech companies have. There is no other “next big thing” with possible universal appeal so they are going to ride this train right off the cliff.

This goes back to the writer’s strike. Immediate and deferred compensation hinges in part on the amount of episodes created, as does some IP contracts (read:more compensation). Studio execs have been ruthless at cutting costs, primarily to behind-the scenes creatives.
