There can be only one type of security guarantee, i.e., NATO forces on the ground in Ukraine. To even talk about mere words from Putin or Trump is absurd, given their history of prevarication.

One can only hope this is a new protocol, i.e., blow yourself up but leave everyone else out of the exhibition of nihilistic rage.

Alchemists succeeded in distilling quicksilver from apparent dirt, so continued for hundreds of years in fruitless effort to convert lead to gold: Similarly, AI workers continue to insist that human intelligence can be understood in digital terms.[1965 Alchemy and Artificial Intelligence; Dreyfus]

This really disgusts me. Whatever the lack of honor in higher places, Americans must be able to have faith in the honor and courage of our military.

The unstated fact is that anything Trump (or his friend Putin) says is no more than noise, i.e., would not be worth repeating, much less relying on. However, if this can be shoehorned into having committed European/UK forces on the ground in Ukraine for the open-ended future, that would be useful.

I suggest that humans might have a better chance to create and live in advanced conditions (e.g., without 1% parasites) if they stopped insisting on breeding mindlessly like bacteria. There are far too many people on this planet and it appears more like an overflowing Petri dish at this point.

Although I agree that the US is exhibiting the usual signs of decay in legalism (and proliferation of lawyers), I would suggest the actual focus of Beijing is on stealing whatever technology is developed in advanced Western nations and then perhaps tuning to economic advantage in production.
