  2. The unstated fact is that anything Trump (or his friend Putin) says is no more than noise, i.e., would not be worth repeating, much less relying on. However, if this can be shoehorned into having committed European/UK forces on the ground in Ukraine for the open-ended future, that would be useful.

  3. I would not be cut out for diplomacy, since the engineer in me would balk at interrogating a proven pathological liar for guarantees or anything else (because in engineering and hard science, e.g., physics, the tend to make a habit of using what is true and useful).

  4. I suggest that humans might have a better chance to create and live in advanced conditions (e.g., without 1% parasites) if they stopped insisting on breeding mindlessly like bacteria. There are far too many people on this planet and it appears more like an overflowing Petri dish at this point.

  5. Although I agree that the US is exhibiting the usual signs of decay in legalism (and proliferation of lawyers), I would suggest the actual focus of Beijing is on stealing whatever technology is developed in advanced Western nations and then perhaps tuning to economic advantage in production.
