This AM my there was a piece on edge/msn's homepage about Charlie Kirk saying men should pay for dates. The "honor" you "lose" by going dutch or letting her pay is "worth more than the money you save." We need to talk about how that rhetoric is the other side of the same coin as this one:
The throwback patriarchy boosterism with its obsession with strict honor codes, the "natural" inferiority of women, is all part and parcel of the same project. Women should be meek and led around by strong and honorable men who will, among other things, protect them from the "cockroaches."
