Good news: Sales at Pike Place Market are up 6.5% in July as well! Making the street more of a welcoming place for people to enjoy, sit, and shop seems to be paying off!
"[Pike Place PDA Director] Ligtenberg said foot traffic at the market was up 4.5% in May and 8.5% in June, compared to last year...vendors have also reported better sales. One key indicator, called “percent rent,” which tracks what businesses pay to the PDA based on sales, was up 6.6% in June."
