I first heard about Taylor Swift when she gave the Seattle Symphony $50,000 after listening to the hypnotic "Become Ocean" by John Luther Adams, which won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize. I've always liked her for that (and Ludovic Morlot for making the commission happen in the first place).
