People keep blaming the rise of fascism on the books women are reading but you know what I think the real cause is?
Giving stupid people's opinions the same merit and consideration as the experts.
I fear that being woke, and not calling out idiots, anti-vaxxers, fascists et al, has backfired!
I'm afraid I'll have to put: "Holy shit, you're an idiot!" back into my lexicon.

Being nice to stupid people when they say stupid things didn’t encourage them to engage and learn. It encouraged them to say more stupid things. They made stupid great again. And now we’re all paying for it.
