Fully agree. It’s great to have him as someone that Gray can study under, too. He might not find many better teachers.

He’s also a scary prospect for opposition teams to go up against. He’s gigantic and times his tackles superbly. Having him and Romero in the same team makes us a bit frightening.

I think all of us sometimes get carried away in the transfer window and there’s no football on. We make the mistake of often overreacting and I think that happened with Pahlinha. But he excels at being a 6 and allows Sarr and Bentancur (and likely Bergvall) to shine while he mops up.

He was arguably the best pure destroyer in the league during his two years at Fulham. And having him in midfield has transformed, so far, how we match up in those big games like City away and PSG. I also think his tackles and willingness to do the dirty work is bringing the best out of Bentancur

Something I’m liking so far is the signing of Pahlinha. From some of the comments about that, you’d have thought we were signing one of the worst players itw. He didn’t work out at Bayern bc of Kompany’s heavy possession system (Bayern always have possession in the Bundesliga) but he’s huge for us
