    We were driving home and from the passenger seat I saw a noisy miner pecking at it on the side of the road! By the time I got to it the miner had given up but the stick insect was still in a very defensive frame of mind, flaring its wings (apparently the blue spots are meant to deter predators)

    If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

    There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

    Anyone wanna see this cool stick insect I saw yesterday? (Helpful bods on iNaturalist tell me it’s a Children’s stick insect, Tropidoderus childrenii, and Wikipedia tells me the blue wings spots are diagnostic and the body colour and structure mean it’s a male)

    A long, skinny, red stick insect on the ground amid leaf litter. Its wings are partially open, showing dark blue colouration at the joint of the wings and the body.
