  1. The role of copyright and patents is to enrich the public domain, not to protect private profit. When the state confers copyright on works, it must benefit society, not the individual. It should last no longer than ten years.

Interesting. You wouldn’t have all that data on your computer without strong IP protections, the creators wouldn’t have made it under a Chinese style no copyright system you are recommending. Without a way for creators to protect their work, they would be digging ditches and not creating content

  2. Shakespeare wasn't protected by copyright. Plato's republic wasn't protected by copyright. You have no natural right to copyright, that said, I think it should last no more than 10 years and the dmca should be abolished. China was able to advance so quickly because there isn't really IP in China.

  3. EU and UK online safety rules are backdoor censorship laws that needlessly invade privacy and US companies are right not to comply. US companies should physically remove themselves from europe and tell the EU and UK to pound sand.

  4. The reason prescription drugs cost so much is the consumer has no negotiating power. The government, big pharma and health insurance companies work together to force people to buy inferior government subsidized health plans and to keep prices for drugs expensive.

  5. Florida is not banning books, you can still go and buy those books for yourself. They just want to keep pornography books out of schools and public libraries. You can read them for free on the Internet anyway, I just don't think that porn should be promoted to children and teenagers.

  6. Electricity is not a zero sum game. It is possible to build more power plants and to build more cables to transport that power and to produce more fuel to run those power plants. Sadly the government and environmental banana activists won't let us.

  7. There is no competition to hold the British rail system accountable. Yes, it is a private company, but it has a monopoly and state backing but it still nickels and dimes the taxpayer when it loses money year after year. Same with the county bus company where I live.
