Trump and DeSantis admins ordered rainbow crosswalks removed, and the Pulse Memorial crosswalk was among the first painted over. Now, citizens are fighting back.
Now, to my deep and genuine dismay, it feels like we're closer to a massive loss of faith in the New York Times as a news source than we are to either accurate news coverage of trans issues or respecting trans people's fundamental equality.
I started my trans news project because I thought I might be able to push mainstream journalism in a healthier direction on trans topics.
Some trans people suggested that the NYT was rotten to the core and that the US would need replacements, not reform, but I dismissed that as unrealistic.

The father of a transgender child said that in nine years of working near a court bathroom, he has gotten zero complaints about people using it.
This young woman does not deserve to be "hotly debated." She deserves to be respected and supported, exactly as she is. The adults spewing ignorance and hatred are ganging up on a child. And the Christians doing it are not following Jesus's example or teaching.

To those who thought it was so funny that Mississippi lost access, you have no idea who lives here, who suffers here, who is now losing access to resources and community that they need.
