Eh, that didn't bother me so much, felt like a style/genre thing to me, but I do get what you're saying (especially with What It Sounds Like). I thought How It's Done and Your Idol were probably the most memorable/catchiest songs, but I don't like the former's lyrics. I'm likely too old/cynical. 😅

I do agree with that haha. Though I read something about how they were ordered to cut huge chunks of the movie to meet a certain runtime, so I think that may partially explain it. Hoping they will allow the sequel to be longer because of the original's success, maybe it won't run into that problem.

But the movie's success is a good thing from this perspective. Since they're already planning to expand the franchise in the form of a sequel and/or TV show, that opens up the possibility that any continuation they make will flesh things out and make bolder choices.
