    There are no distractions. It's all bad, and it's all part of Trump's desire to be a dictator and the Republicans' Project 2025.

    This is, more or less, what I was thinking about earlier today. The slide into authoritarianism is greased by a relentless refusal to treat each action as part of a broader context. We see this with politicians, journalists, and even SCOTUS. The motives differ, but the pathology is the same.
