Good Superman stories are almost never about who wins the fights. They're about how to solve the problems.
Superman can do massive, mighty things. The story is about his figuring out what massive, mighty things he should do. About understanding, not about overpowering.
Which has always made Superman a tough character for me to like. I always think, “how can this guy lose?”
