There needs to be a word for the lost strands of shredded cheese that don't quite make it into your mouth when you try to eat a pinch. Come on, Germany, help me out here.

It's fairly simple. Split a vanilla bean, put it in a jar, and cover in bakers sugar. Every week, come in and shake the jar to keep it from clumping.
I also make my own extract. So I usually take my used beans from that to make the sugar.

It was co-opted by the military to be the unofficial theme for Desert Storm. Whenever any of the kids in my class did any sort of presentation about their dads being in the military, they blared it in the background. It was the "Have You Forgotten" of Desert Storm.
