  1. Hi, there. Dogwhistle specialist here- "beautiful and clean" is as much of a dog whistle as anything else when speaking about "the inner city and crime". God these people are cliched.

this is why it's so important to call out establishment Dems & Dem leadership. because many liberals are hyper-susceptible to accepting fascism. we all know Rs are fascist but many liberals have been conditioned to not see it, to not feel it coming. fascism is here. people like this will bolster it.

    austerity is theft @wideofthepost :
On the steering committee for @CNLiberalism, and eager for Trump to impose martial law.

I tepidly support Trump's actions in DC.
DC has one of the highest crime rates of any major city and the local government has done nothing to stop it.
Minors prowl the streets, harass and attack people and get no consequences bc they are kids
DC should be beautiful and clean

  2. it's also steeped in coded racist language a lot of (white) people take for granted and use uncritically.

Dems also need to stop using GOP framing & right wing talking points. The entire framing of "DC or NYC or X city is dangerous" is complete fucking bullshit. All of these places are way the fuck safer than red states. Instead of accepting the GOP's reasoning, it should be "Cities are SAFE, actually!"

  3. A few interesting articles from ZME Science.

    1. "Kemp singles out Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Xi Jinping as embodiments of these traits. He points to the corporations and algorithms that dominate our lives more and more, operating under the same extractive logic of profit over people."

Our civilization may be facing a “single gargantuan crash,” but collapse isn’t destiny. It’s a choice.

"Self-termination is most likely." This expert believes our civilization is on a crash course led by narcissistic leaders

  4. I called during Trump 1 that he was trying to set up some kind of loyal paramilitar with the pardoning of convicted war criminals and the affiliation with the white supremacist militias, but I thought it became moot after Biden won. Then came Jan 6 and the broad pardons in Trump 2 and we're fucked.

  5. Excellent point!

I propose a correlation between consumerism & individualism.

Individualism yields selective collaboration filled w/ulterior motives, dependent on status, & defined by stuff (consumerism). 0 sum game rules

Won't be quick Takes longer to get out of a thing vs begin a thing
