one of the most obvious lies imaginable (that wasn’t reported as such by our political press corps)

  1. How in the hell does Trump expect a baby boom, when people can barely afford the necessities. If they really want people to have more kids they would make sure people had a larger disposable income. These days people can barely afford to take care of themselves let alone kids.

  2. So many of Trump's undertakings during his damnable election campaign were just lies.

One of the biggest was that he had nothing to do with Project 2025.

No statement from Trump, and precious few from his Regime, can be taken at face value.

  3. didn't he weirdly say at one point in the campaign that he was going to be 'the fertilization president' ??? actually he's the FERTILIZER president, totally full of sh*t

  4. Having done IVF (and been privileged enough to make it work) I get the sheer desperation that would lead others going through infertility to want to believe this? But that doesn’t let the press corps off the hook.

  5. The worst part is that we all have to report they were lies. He had no campaign. Ran on hate and "won"

  6. trump can't spell I-V-F, let alone care about it. He would have promised don, jr., Eric and Ivanka out as servants, if he thought it would have helped get him elected.

  7. If Trump can sue these news outlets for reporting facts, can we form a class action lawsuit for "misreporting" or LYING to us constantly and editing Trump interviews to cut out his crazy shit?

  8. It's a matter of continuing frustration that the savvy, experienced pros in our political press just went ahead and reported his lie without ever pushing for details, and now will ignore the fact that it was a lie and he has no intention of living up to any of his promises.

  9. This was the single issue that made me come closest to a vote for Trump. I shook my head 5 seconds later saying to myself "don't be an idiot, he's lying again"

  10. Yeah. They can’t support IVF. The evangelicals think that it is in the same park as “mRNA” vaccines and abortion. So… he was never going to do that.

  11. reminder that for the political press the great scandal of the 2024 election was that harris didn’t give enough interviews

  12. I'm old enough to remember that Ivanka was definitely going to work on passing a great parental leave bill during Trump's first term, something a new father and maga dipshit delighted in telling me.

  13. Even this piece credulously quotes an anonymous source as saying this is a "huge priority" for Trump. And, most gallingly, that Trump can't compel IVF coverage without Congressional approval. Because, you know, that's something this administration cares so much about.

  14. Well fuck dudes "I won on the grocery."

How is the pig ever going to make up or apologize for that one? He doesn't give a damn and food prices are roaring up.

  15. The same bunch of idiots that reported he knows “nothing about Project 2025” BTW.

  16. Trusting a bunch of old men who don't even know what a pap smear is, and a bunch of young men who last saw a vagina during their own birth, to understand the complexities and expenses of invitro fertilization was a bigger leap of faith than the Resurrection.

  17. The Father of IVF, huh??

Trump's statement said that "I strongly support the availability of IVF for couples who are trying to have a precious baby"

And now? Listen to "Papa was a Rollin' Stone".

  18. Wait, large employer group plans are required to cover IVF as of Jan 1, 2026. Are we hearing they are going to delay that mandate now?

  19. I know so many maga folks who used IVF successfully who have no idea about this and would argue w me how it isn’t true 2025 in America.

  20. At one of his gibberish infused speeches, he referred to himself as the father of IVF. I'm guessing he really doesn't know or understand what it is.

  21. rnmcd.bsky.social profile picture

1 of 4: Only the wealthy can afford IVF out of pocket, and the inhumane MAGA administration isn't going to subsidize it. They're already siphoning all our tax dollars away from providing, well, anything — let alone healthcare — to anyone but billionaires.

  22. For years now, political press has dwindled into celebrity press reporting, w/ the only difference being their subjects (politicians and officials instead of artists and socialites). "Published means forgotten" should be their motto.

  23. Course they don’t. They don’t even want to feed kids that are born. IVF is really expensive. Honestly, by now at least some of them should get that he would say anything to be elected.

  24. Keep thinking how one lady voted for Trump solely because of the IVF promise only to lose her government job.

What I simply don't understand is why people EVER expect Donny to deliver on his promises.

  25. I’m starting to worry that the pony and that game of catch he promised us might not pan out, either. But I know he’ll show for our birthday and dance recital. I mean I saw his calendar for that day, but, he said it so he’s gotta… right?

  26. I mean, it’s possible he thought IVF was an acronym for “I Vant to Fuck” and the “preteen girls” part was implied.

Unrealistic? Maybe. But it’s more plausible than the idea that he sincerely wanted to expand medical care for those in need.

  27. They want to make the thawing of IVF embryos a capital crime (murder of a child.) Why would they expand IVF coverage?

  28. Trump LIED to curry favor with voters. Nooooooo...color me shocked, shocked I say. NEVER

This AssHat NEVER, TELLS THE TRUTH. He will look you in the eye and "honestly" tell you he will do insert whatever here.... five months later he know NOTHING about that and does the opposite. Traitor.

  29. It would be a great improvement if the political press could stop conveying that the president has dominion over all of government and all policies

  30. Didn’t the IVF promise come from Trump’s mouth?? Well, there you have it He got the IVF community’s vote though Mission accomplished

  31. I think we can generalize that to most MSM failed us. I hope we have a better future ahead of us and I'm looking to the ones brave enough to speak truth to create a new future.

  32. My niece, living in the UK is pregnant with twins. IVF is available on the National Health there.

  33. As I recall, the whole obvious bullshit was a ham-handed clean up after he fucked up an answer about how he'd vote on a Florida abortion ban ballot measure. And they just lapped the IVF pivot up like there was no context at all.

  34. Between this and the absolute journalistic malpractice and believing Trump’s denials about project 2025…

I think there needs to be some serious soul searching in the press…

  35. Oh please, anyone who believed this rampant liar was lying to themselves or their constituents.
