I’m poor and have spent a little over 4 years incarcerated and still think we need prisons. I didn’t even know leftists thought we shouldn’t have any prisons at all. I knew they wanted no for profit prisons and I think that’s obviously needed along with extreme regulations. I don’t understand 1/2

Child brides have never been outlawed in 2/3 of states in America including California for some reason. They require parental and judicial approval but that still leaves the door open to coercion by parents(usually religious) to force their kid to marry their abuser. Only 16 states don’t allow it.

It’s not just America though, yes we are higher on the blame list but the EU, UK, and Canada are all complicit as well and will be remembered as such.

These are pretty much mainstream Republican opinions now though. Many GOP senators and reps say shit like this, maybe not quite as overt but in a dog whistle at the very least. Mike Lee and a few others just say shit like this outright.
