    My EU's GDPR doesn't care in which country a business stores its data (=the data of their customers). If their offerings are available in the EU, they have to comply with it or risk a hefty financial wrist-slap otherwise.

  3. In this particular case, if you have your data in a US cloud provider regardless of that data’s data centre location, then that US cloud provider is compelled to provide that data upon request by the US government.

    Which is why you should not have your data with a US cloud provider.
