As I've pointed out before, in 1996, Paul Wellstone, the most progressive Democratic Senator of his day, voted to ban same-sex marriage, while in 2022, Joe Manchin, the most conservative Democratic Senator of his. voted to repeal that ban.
Sorry, but this is nonsense. The Democratic base and elected officials have moved measurably left since the days of Blue Dogs and triangulation.
There will always be principle-free grifters like Emmanuel, Fetterman, & Newsom, and the media will always slobber over them. They don’t win primaries.
