Let's reform the Atlanta Way to use resources for an equitable city. Former 'tax break naysayer' on Invest Atlanta board & Gulch RedLighter, I campaign against wasteful revenue giveaways that favor billionaires at the rest's expense.

  1. Confession. I'd walked halfway to the pharmacy on a warm Spring day this year when I realized I'd forgotten my wallet. Called my spouse and humbly asked if this ApplePay thing was on my phone and usable. Without a friendly assistant at CVS, I still wouldn't have completed the transaction.

  2. Great that Fulton 3 candidate, Reed Stillson, calls for taxing trophy property at market. I shared undervaluation data with Reed & Kelsea who grasped it immediately. Current Fulton Commissioners have the data but refuse to act. Pitts, Barrett & Arrington want to be Fulton Chair. Fix this first!

Kelsea is right as usual. As Fulton County Commissioner, I will ensure we have a Board of Assessors that accurately appraises and taxes corporate-owned trophy properties instead of banking on everyday homeowners to foot the bill.

  3. If candidates for local office are not demanding, like Kelsea, that trophy commercial properties be appraised at market and pay their fair share of taxes - why not? It's a scandal. And a $500M / yr revenue opportunity for APS, City & County. The only way out of the financial jam Atlanta is in.

Atlanta is not doing right by our kids. Over 1,800 APS students lack stable housing. Our public schools are being starved of funds because billionaire luxury property owners refuse to pay their fair share in taxes. Poverty is the single largest predictor of educational outcomes.

  4. Let's focus on where the money is, or would be, if Fulton Assessors would do their jobs. The core trophy commercial areas of Atlanta are Midtown, Buckhead, Beltline & Downtown. All in Fulton. If we ever fix the Fulton under-appraisal scandal, it might then be worth someone looking at DeKalb.
