What worked for me was 1) no cold turkey withdrawal 2) still had a nice full-size warm beverage and 3) I adjusted to decaffeinated flavor. It takes some discipline, but was a much more realistic way to shift a habit without hating my life. (3/3)

Adjust once a day only -- even if you drink more than 1 cup daily. Coffee uses more product AND has more caffeine so it will take 25-30 days to fully shift. Tea uses less product AND has less caffeine and will take 12-15 days to fully shift. (2/3)

So if you're a coffee or tea drinker buy a supply of caffeinated, beans (ground/whole) or loose leaf tea and a decaffeinated supply. Assuming you drink in 1 mug/tea cup increments, slowly introduce a quarter teaspoon of decaffeinated and reduce your caffeinated product by the same amount. (1/3)

I had to go caffeine free for health reasons last year. I knew cold turkey was gonna be BAAD (caffeine withdrawal headaches suck so bad!). But I figured out how to do it and am over 18 months caffeine free. Want a tip?

I liken it to a modern sacking of Rome ... but by Romans. I still want to understand if anything truly analogous has happened historically and I never find solid comparison to a global hegemon committing its own self destruction so quickly.

There is a divergence between people reacting to the big things happening in very real ways that cause actual suffering around the world and people reacting to things that are not real at all being manufactured by agents of those causing the real things and distracting with fake things.

Note: I repeatedly experimented with different forms of generative AI last year and early this year. And walked away from it determined to not use it again once I thought long and hard about it, its profoundly destructive impacts, and how we are not ready as a society for what it is doing to us.
