As I mentioned in a previous reply to you, I am old. I was a senior in college when Kent State happened and I have also worried about our entering a new, lethal aspect of the Trump regime and I also wonder what it will take for the Rs to stop him, b/c ONLY they can do it before it gets to that.

For SO many years--going back to at least Reagan, and I know this b/c I am old and saw it w/my own eyes--NYT has been willing/eager to legitimize/downplay absolute shit the Rs do and endlessly cover/ridicule the smallest innocuous, idiosyncrasy of D's behavior and/or statements..

I would say to this that MAGA is not hist target, but rather demoralized Dems who need the boost of seeing someone--ANYONE--fighting back! Dems need to be energized and I would say also that he is reaching MAGA thru right wing outlets amplifying him.

Yes--more than that! By his death, he had made millions in stock market, despite blue collar origins and like today's 1%,he attributed it all to his own savvy. Was *very fond of saying, "No one gave me anything!" Despite having uncles in union who assured he was employed throughout the Depression.

Bill M. was a smart guy. I would never have thought of it in that way, but my (deceased super right wing) father-in-law never stopped decrying FDR despite his having lived thru the depression and benefitted from union protection. He had "his", let others be damned...
